Letters to a Jobseeker Part 4 – Devil in the detail

Letters to a jobseeker - Devil in the detail

Welcome to part 4 in our short series of hints and suggestions when applying for positions advertised on the internet.

Dear Jobseeker

Thank you for your application.  I read in your opening paragraph that you are a person who gives attention to detail. It does not seem so!

Please do a spell check before saving your CV. Read through your CV and make sure of where, were, and we’re; while doing that maybe have a look at the use of there/their/they’re and a few others. Punctuation is another area where you may be able to show that you are, indeed, a person who gives attention to detail.

A person who gives attention to detail submits a perfectly typed and edited CV, including the spelling of their own name!

Just saying that you give attention to detail is not going to convince your prospective employer that you do give attention to detail if your CV is incomplete and full of errors.

Kind regards

The Recruiter
